Construction Technologist/Operations Analyst

Location: Woburn, MA
Department: Technology / Operations Excellence
Reports To: VP of Construction & IT Lead

About the Role

The Construction Technologist / Operations Analyst drives the modernization of construction operations by integrating digital platforms, automating workflows, and connecting data across the business. This role focuses on eliminating manual data entry, streamlining communication, and deploying emerging technologies—including AI—to deliver real-time insights and operational efficiency. Rather than building software from scratch, you will leverage existing tools, APIs, and low-code solutions to solve business challenges for project managers, field teams, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Integration & Automation

  • Orchestrate the data flow between core platforms (ERP, PM, Financials) to permanently eliminate double-entry and manual errors.
  • Develop integrations between project management platforms, file storage systems, and internal tools.
  • Build workflow automations to streamline document routing, approvals, notifications, and reporting.
  • Maintain and optimize existing integrations to ensure stability, accuracy, and performance.
  • Deploy AI Tools to automate forecasting, document parsing, and other AI-driven operational improvements.

AI & Data-Driven Solutions

  • Design and deploy AI-supported enhancements such as document parsing, classification, and summarization.
  • Assist in building predictive dashboards, quality-control tools, and forecasting models to support operations.

Operational Tooling & Dashboards

  • Build lightweight applications, scripts, or interfaces that solve operational bottlenecks.
  • Create user-friendly tools for PMs, estimators, service teams, and coordinators to access and manage project information.
  • Develop internal dashboards and visualizations that provide performance insights and operational transparency.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and proactively flag risks (e.g., WIP fade, manpower spikes) before they snowball into critical issues.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with project teams to understand workflow challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Train users on new tools, integrations, and automations, ensuring simple adoption.
  • Assist IT and Operations leadership in digital transformation initiatives and long?term technology planning.

Quality, Security & Documentation

  • Maintain clean, well-documented code. Generate and maintain internal development standards.
  • Ensure integrations and tools follow security, permission, and data-handling requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize solutions to ensure ongoing reliability.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience integrating business systems, automating workflows, or building data solutions in a construction or operations environment.
  • Proficiency with APIs, webhooks, and low-code automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, Briq); experience with programming languages is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms, workflow engines, or low-code/AI solutions is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for applying AI, automation, and data-driven solutions to real-world operational challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical teams and translate business needs into practical, automated solutions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of owning integration and automation projects from concept through deployment.
