P.J. Dionne Company handled the plumbing for two new 10-story graduate residences located on MIT’s West Campus. This project required strict coordination guidelines due to the use of concrete hollow core decks, ensuring proper installation and integration with other building systems. An underground main water service, made of Niron plastic piping in accordance with MIT’s installation standards, runs between the two buildings from a single source.
The residences are part of a dynamic, sustainable urban community designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification. The project included the installation of over 350 showers and kitchen sinks, 58 tubs, and 447 water closets. Additionally, low flush fixtures with 1.0 gallons per flush (gpf) were installed to promote water conservation.
This was a fast-paced project that would not have been possible without our stellar field crews.
