New England Historic Genealogical Society

P.J. Dionne Company completed a complex renovation and new construction project for the New England Historic Genealogical Society at 97 and 99 Newbury Street, involving both historical and ground-up building work. At 97 Newbury, a renovation of the existing NEHGS building, we added a Fuel Oil System with a modern generator in compliance with the Boston Fire Code, collaborating closely with the Boston Fire Department to ensure a safe and compliant installation.

At 99 Newbury, a new building sandwiched between two structures, we integrated Plumbing and HVAC systems with the existing building. This included the installation of an energy recovery unit, an advanced fire smoke damper system, and associated air distribution devices. Additionally, we installed a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with five condenser units, multiple fan coil units, and a Snow Melt System with EPS floorboard and Wi-Fi-enabled controls to address winter conditions in Boston.

The plumbing scope included adding a 5,000-gallon Storm Retention Tank with a powerful pump assembly and automated controls, as well as a complete bathroom renovation with new water and sanitary installations.
